Before performing pressure test noticed an outlet on the coolant recovery tank with no hose attached. Inspection of diagrams revealed that the factory hose that should have been there was now spliced into a separate line with use of a tee fitting. Further research indicated that a recall had been done on this vehicle, The outlet that appeared to be missing a hose is now supposed to be capped, and the cap was missing. Added cap and pressure tested cooling system, held 16 psi which is spec for the vehicle. Road tested vehicle to duplicate "revving" noise heard by customer. Tech found nothing out the ordinary. Vehicle did enter regen mode while stopped on the test drive and once again after parking, Vehicle was ran until regen completed. Sound also could have been the cooling fan clutch engaging, which would have been happening frequently with the cooling system not building pressure (missing cap). Noise also could have been overdrive engaging and disengaging on hills, engine revs for a shot time while gears switch. The first poss 10.
